We recognize that how we operate has a local, regional and global impact – for our people and our planet, now and in the future. We are committed to being a responsible business, striving to incorporate sustainability into everything we do.
Through various initiatives, we share best practices across our global network in a conscious effort to reduce the environmental footprint of our business operations, our employees and a number of our suppliers.
Our key focuses as part of our drive to continuously improve our environmental performance and promote a better, more sustainable future include:
- Tackling climate change – We are dedicated to preventing and minimizing pollution directly and indirectly resulting from our activities, including integrating sustainable strategies in our smaller, day-to-day operations, such as using environmentally friendly products, and encouraging more impactful and transformative practices across our network, such as actively reducing our energy consumption throughout many of our offices and globally investing in our web conferencing technology in place of unnecessary business travel.
- Promoting the circular economy – We are committed to adopting sustainable waste management procedures in our offices across the globe, in order to minimize the quantity of waste we produce, and maximize the amount of waste we recycle, with all of our offices or buildings participating in robust recycling programs, and many of them implementing measures to ensure the most effective and efficient use of resources.
- Engaging our local communities and suppliers – We acknowledge that in order to achieve our sustainability goals, our efforts must extend beyond our firm, to the suppliers we appoint and the communities we serve. In addition to working with a number of local suppliers that share our ambition to reduce emissions, we collaborate with our local communities to decrease consumption, and to share and foster knowledge as part of our involvement in environmental awareness-raising events.
- Working to achieve environmental certifications and accreditations – In the UK, we are on target to receive ISO14001 certification by the end of 2021, but for building refits and maintenance to our offices, we already work with contractors and suppliers that have achieved ISO14001 certification. All of our Australia offices have achieved at least a four-star NABERS rating for energy and water consumption, among others, while most of our US offices are LEED certified. LEED certification extends to our Warsaw office, which occupies a platinum building, and our Paris office is registered with HQE and is BREEAM® certified.
